I confess – ever since I was little, I’ve been a rockhound!   I’d often be ignorant of the scenery around me – because my eyes were on the ground, enticed by that sparkly chunk of granite by the pathway… fast forward several decades, and I even made time to join my local Gem and Mineral Society for a while, so I could learn to cut cabochons!   (I still hope to do more of that some day!)
